Juventus and Inter ponder moves for Arsenal forward

Juventus and Inter have emerged as potential suitors for Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud, reports Calciomercato.

Giroud has been heavily linked with a move away from Arsenal in the last six months after dropping down the pecking order under Arsene Wenger.

The France international only signed a new contract with the Gunners at the start of the year but recently admitted he was close to joining Everton over the summer.

Giroud opted to stay at the Emirates but Alexandre Lacazette’s club-record arrival has only limited his first-team opportunities further and now Juventus and Inter are ready to enter the frame for his signature at the end of the season.

However, the 31-year-old may look to resolve his future sooner than that as he is desperate to hold down his position as France’s first choice striker ahead of the 2018 World Cup.

Giroud has only started 11 Premier League matches since the start of last season and has been limited to just seven substitute appearances this term.

Of Premier League players that have scored at least 10 in that period, only Harry Kane (1 every 90.1 minutes of action) and Gabriel Jesus (every 97 mins) score more frequently than Giroud (every 102.1 mins).
