Koeman talks up Chelsea role

 

Ronald Koeman has talked up the possibility of taking over at Chelsea at the end of the season.

 

The Dutchman has impressed during his time as Southampton boss, with his side currently 10th in the Premier League table having been forced into selling a raft of key players during his time in charge.

 

Chelsea will be on the look out for a new manager at the end of the current campaign, with interim manager Guus Hiddink expected to step down from his position come May.

Koeman has now thrown his hat into the ring for contention according to the Daily Mirror, saying: "If Guus puts in a good word for me, that would be a big influence."

 

The news comes after reports suggested Chelsea have contacted Max Allegri about taking over the reins next season, while Diego Simeone is another who has been linked with a switch to Chelsea.
