Crystal Palace eye move for Barcelona man

Crystal Palace manager Frank de Boer wants to reunite with Barcelona goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen at Selhurst Park this summer, reports The Daily Mail.

De Boer wants to bring total football to Selhurst Park and holds reservations over whether Wayne Hennessey would be able to adapt to his philosophy.

After selling Steven Mandanda back to Marseille earlier this month, Palace have now entered talks with Barcelona about signing Cillessen despite the fact he only joined the Spanish giants last summer.

However, the 28-year-old only made one league appearance for Barcelona last season and has no realistic chance of usurping Marc-Andre Ter Stegen in the pecking order at the Camp Nou.

Dealing with Barcelona would usually be out of Palace’s reach but De Boer is looking to use his connection with Cillessen, having managed the Dutch goalkeeper during his time at Ajax, to get a deal over the line.

Cillessen made eight appearances for Barcelona in all competitions last season but only managed to keep two clean sheets in that time.
