Chelsea have offered Willian a new four-year deal worth £120,000-a-week amid fears they could lose their best players if they fail to qualify for Europe, reports The Times.
The reigning Premier League champions are 14 points off the top four and are also rank outsiders to qualify for the Europa League unless there is a dramatic change in fortunes or success in the Champions League or the FA Cup.
While many of the Chelsea squad have performed below par for the majority of this season, Willian has been their one constant.
The Brazil international has easily been their best player this season and is likely to court interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs in the summer.
With more than two years remaining on his current deal at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea are understandably keen to get the 27-year-old to commit to a new long-term deal to ward off interest from any potential suitors of the versatile forward.
No Chelsea player has completed more dribbles in the Premier League than Willian (59) and only Diego Costa (13) has scored more goals in all competitions for the Blues than the Brazil international (10).
