Arsenal ready to fend off United for European wonderkid

Arsenal have entered the race to sign Benfica midfielder Renato Sanches and are ready to rival Manchester United for his signature, according to The Daily Mail.

Sanches, 18, has been heavily linked with a move to United and the Portugal international is hopeful of securing a move to Old Trafford in the summer if the two clubs can agree a fee.

The Benfica midfielder has been particularly impressive in the Champions League this season and impressed against Bayern Munich last week. He has a £60m release clause and Arsenal have now entered the race to sign the central midfielder.

In fact, only two Benfica players have completed more dribbles in the Champions League than Sanches this season (11).
