Manchester United forward rules out leaving the club

Manchester United forward Anthony Martial has endured a tough first season under Jose Mourinho but has declared his love for the club and has no interest in leaving any time soon.

Martial, 21, joined United from Monaco last season in a deal worth an initial £36m and enjoyed a stunning maiden campaign at the club but has since found life more difficult under Mourinho.

The France international’s first team opportunities have been limited this season after being forced to prove his worth to Mourinho in training but the United No.11 now seems to have won his manager over.

Martial was heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford in January but the pacey winger has declared his commitment to the club and insists he wants to stay for as long as possible.

“I love Manchester, I love the club and I love the fans,” The Daily Mail quotes Martial as saying ahead of their Europa League second leg clash with Saint-Etienne.

“[The fans] give me a lot of joy and I really enjoy having them backing me. I try to be as good as possible to make them happy, to satisfy them, so what I want is to stay as long as possible at this club.”

Martial has been limited to just 10 starts in the Premier League this season but has started in each of United’s last three matches. Since the start of last season no player has scored as many goals in all competitions for United than Martial (24).
