Crystal Palace are weighing up an £11m move for former Sunderland midfielder Yann M’Vila, according to The Daily Telegraph.
Sam Allardyce’s side have already signed Jeffrey Schlupp and are on the verge of completing a deal to sign Patrick van Aanholt from Sunderland but the former England manager isn’t finished there as he looks to save Palace from relegation.
Allardyce worked with M’Vila at Sunderland last season before the French midfielder returned to Rubin Kazan at the end of the season and now the Eagles boss is pondering a reunion.
The 26-year-old only signed a new three-and-a-half year deal with Kazan on Boxing Day but had an £11m release clause inserted into the contract that could only be activated by Premier League clubs, with Palace now considering him as a real option before the January transfer window closes in a week’s time.
M’Vila has only featured in nine Russian Premier League games this season but only Carlos Zambrano (3.4) averages more interceptions per game for Kazan than M’Vila (3).
