Leicester reject Derby’s £7m bid for versatile forward

Leicester have turned down a £7m offer from Derby for Tom Lawrence, reports The Derby Telegraph.

Lawrence has spent the last three years with Leicester but has failed to establish himself as a first-team regular in that time.

The former Manchester United academy graduate enjoyed a thoroughly impressive loan spell at Ipswich last season but it remains to be seen whether he can force his way into Craig Shakespeare’s plans at the King Power Stadium.

Derby are keen to add at least one more attacking player to their squad ahead of the new season, which starts this weekend, but have been dealt a blow in their pursuit of the 23-year-old after their £7m bid was knocked back.

Lawrence scored nine goals and registered as many assists in the Championship last season and was one real bright spark for an Ipswich side that really underwhelmed in general.
