Arsenal have announced the arrival of Flamengo centre-back Pablo Mari on loan for the remainder of the season.
Mikel Arteta has made his first signing as Arsenal manager and has bolstered his defensive ranks with the 26-year-old.
A deal for Mari appeared off earlier in the week after the Spaniard return to Brazil following a brief lay-over in london.
However, Arsenal have now pushed through a deal as a result of Shkodran Mustafi spraining his ankle at the weekend.
Mari played an integral part in Flamengo's historic double last season, as the Brazilian outfit won their first league trophy in a decade and first Copa Libartadores title since 1981.
The Spaniard made 22 league appearances and scored twice for the Brazilian giants, earning a WhoScored rating of 6.83 in the process.
