Recently-appointed Derby County manager Paul Clement has heaped praise on Real Madrid's Sergio Ramos amidst reports Manchester United have lodged a £28.6m bid for the centre-back.
The Spain international is said to want out of Madrid this summer, with United willing to spend big to take him to Old Trafford during the transfer window in their quest to solidify their defence.
Now Clement, who worked with Ramos during his two-year stay at the Bernabeu as Carlo Ancelotti's assistant, has gone on record to speak highly of the 29-year-old defender.
"He is a wonderful player, one of the best I have ever worked with," Clement told Sky Sports. "So many qualities, a fantastic footballer, leader, competitor, athlete, a fantastic guy."
Clement succeeded Steve McClaren as Derby manager last month after the former England boss took over the reins at Newcastle United.
