Three Key Facts Ahead of the Weekend's Serie A Action

There’s little doubt as to the big match in Serie A this week with the Capital city rivalry reignited, while the battle between the top two is still intense. Here we bring you three facts ahead of this week’s big clashes in Italy’s top flight.

Lazio vs Roma

Roma’s winning streak may have come to an end against Inter ahead of the international break but they remain unbeaten in 9 under Luciano Spalletti. Rome rivals Lazio, by comparison, have been incredibly inconsistent, drawing every other game over a sequence of 15 league matches since the start of December. They drew at Milan last time out, so another stalemate seems unlikely.

Juventus vs Empoli

With Napoli still just three points adrift Juventus can’t afford to slip up against Empoli  Empoli and will hope to build on a sensational home record of late. Another victory would be their 12th in a row in the league at the J Stadium, which would move them ahead of Bayern Munich into second in terms of the longest home winning streaks in Europe’s top 5 leagues this season (behind Sevilla - 13).

Three Key Facts Ahead of the Weekend's Serie A Action

Udinese vs Napoli

Napoli will leave themselves with a mountain to climb as they attempt to catch Juve if they drop points so the fact that the Stadio Friuli is something of a bogey ground for the Partenopei will be a concern for the travelling fans. Napoli haven’t won on any of their last 7 visits to face Udinese, so could this be a decisive weekend in Serie A’s title race?
