Lukaku ready to commit to Everton

Romelu Lukaku is prepared to make a sensational u-turn and commit his long-term future to Everton, claims The Daily Mirror.

The Belgium international has been heavily linked with a big money move this summer with the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea courted with an interest in the young striker.

Everton have been holding out for around £60m for the powerful frontman but Lukaku is prepared to drop his demands to play in the Champions League after being convinced by Farhad Moshiri’s intentions for the club.

Alex Witsel is set to become Everton’s highest rated player when he completes his £30m move to Goodison Park and his impending £120,000-a-week wages will dwarf Lukaku’s current £80,000-a-week salary.

However, contract talks are planned over the summer and Lukaku can expect a significant increase in his pay packet and a contract that will extend beyond his existing one that is due to expire in 2019.
