Tottenham want to beat Chelsea to £20m-rated West Ham ace

Tottenham have earmarked West Ham full-back Arthur Masuaku as a summer transfer target but could face competition from Chelsea, claims The Sun.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side will need a new left-back at the end of the season as they are expected to offload Danny Rose.

Manchester United defender Luke Shaw has been heavily linked with a reunion with Pochettino at Tottenham.

However, it has now emerged that Tottenham want to prise Masuaku away from their London rivals.

Chelsea are also interested in the 24-year-old and that could thwart Tottenham’s pursuit.

It remains to be seen whether West Ham would be willing to deal with Tottenham given the hostility between the two clubs.

Masuaku endured a tough start to life at West Ham after joining from Greek side Olympiacos in August 2016 but David Moyes has since brought the best out of the 24-year-old.

Of players that have made at least 15 Premier League appearances this season, only three players complete a dribble more frequently than Masuaku (1 every 22.1 minutes of action).
