Milan favourites to sign Chelsea outcast

AC Milan have been installed as the new favourites to sign Chelsea outcast Juan Cuadrado, according to Calciomercato, via Football Italia.

Cuadrado, 28, spent most of last season on loan with Juventus and was expected to make the switch permanent.

However, the Colombia international has returned to Chelsea and new manager Antonio Conte claims he wants to keep the versatile wideman, who would prove useful if he opted to play a three man defence.

This hasn’t stopped the constant speculation about his future, however, and Milan are now the frontrunners to sign the former Fiorentina man.

The Serie A giants are reportedly in direct talks with Chelsea and hope to agree an initial loan deal with a mandatory option to sign him at the end of next season for €30m (£25m).

Of players that started at least 15 matches in Serie A last season only Diego Perotti (22.5 mins) required fewer minutes per successful dribble than Cuadrado (24.1 mins).
