Chelsea loan star heading back to Stamford Bridge

Charly Musonda will return to Chelsea after falling out of favour at Real Betis under Victor Sanchez this season, reports Canal Sur Radio, via Football Espana.

The 20-year-old joined Betis on loan at the start of the year and made a real impression during the second half of last season and agreed to stay at the Spanish side for another season to continue his development.

However, Betis are onto their third manager since Musonda has been at the club and the youngster has only managed one league start this season leading to concern from his parent club Chelsea.

The Belgium Under-21 international has recently returned to Chelsea to aid his recovery from a knee injury and Antonio Conte’s side are poised to terminate the loan spell before sending him elsewhere to continue his development with regular playing time.

Of players to start at least 10 La Liga matches in 2016 only Neymar (1 very 21.5 mins) and Yannick Carrasco (1 every 22.9 mins) have required fewer minutes per successful dribble than Musonda (1 every 23.2 mins).
