Manchester United are weighing up a move for Leeds United midfielder Lewis Cook, according to The Daily Mail.
Cook, 19, followed in the footsteps of Gareth Bale, Fabian Delph and Dele Alli in being awarded the Football League’s Young Player of the Year award on Sunday following an impressive campaign for Leeds.
The teenage midfielder has a host of Premier League clubs chasing his signature, including United, and he stated on Monday that his ‘dream’ was to play in the Premier League.
With Leeds unlikely to be challenging back in the top-flight anytime soon, the Whites may find it hard to keep a player of his ability around Elland Road for much longer.
Cook, who Leeds have yet to define a role for in their midfield, has played in more minutes than any other outfielder for the club in the Championship this season (3,298), although discipline has proved a problem for the teenager.
In fact, only Giuseppe Bellusci (12) has picked up more bookings than Cook for Leeds this season (10).
