Birmingham have launched a stunning £7.2m bid to sign Torino defensive midfielder Afriyie Acquah, reports Sky Italia, via Football Italia.
Torino are keen to bolster their midfield options this summer and have reportedly told Acquah he is free to leave.
The 25-year-old has spent the last two years with the Serie A side but dropped out of contention last season after a poor disciplinary record.
Birmingham manager Harry Redknapp has already made four signings this summer but has called for more new faces if the Championship outfit are to challenge for promotion this summer.
Acquah made 20 appearances in Serie A last season but only 13 of those were starts. However, only Gabriel Paletta (5) and Yannick Cahuzac (4) were sent off more times in Europe’s top five leagues than the Ghana international (3).
