Arsenal focus on Spain as they prepare for striker shake up

Arsenal have turned their attention to Valencia striker Rodrigo Moreno as they look to prepare for life without Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, reports The Mirror.

Aubameyang has a little over a year left to run on his current Gunners deal and with the striker not prepared to extend his stay at the Emirates, Arsenal are willing to sanction his exit this summer rather than lose him on a free next year.

Lacazette, meanwhile, has been linked with a move to Atletico Madrid, who almost signed the Frenchman before his switch to Arsenal, with his future in the capital up in the air.

And Gunners boss Mikel Arteta has supposedly demanded the board focus their efforts on Rodrigo as the north London outfit look to tinker with their frontline.

Valencia are willing to listen to offers for the 29-year-old, who has previously been linked with a high profile move to LaLiga champions Barcelona.

Rodrigo has struggled in front of goal for Los Che this season, netting just two times in the league, and he hasn't hit the back of the net since their 2-1 home win over Villarreal back in November.

The striker, who can play out wide if needed, has a £110m release clause, but Arsenal will look to negotiate that way down to a more affordable fee.

Rodrigo is keen on a return to England having endured a tough spell with Bolton back in 2010.
