Former Manchester United target issues come and get me plea
Former Manchester United target Fabinho has hinted this season could be his last for Monaco in a stunning come and get me plea.
Fabinho was heavily linked with a move to United and Paris Saint-Germain over the summer before the defending Ligue 1 champions blocked his departure.
The 24-year-old midfielder is one of few integral players left at Monaco from last season’s stunning title-winning campaign but insists he will more than likely be move on in the summer.
“If a move to a new league or a club with a bigger structure and bigger expectations [presents itself], I would be interested,” he told Lancenet on Sunday.
“My time with Monaco was good, but I feel my time here is coming to an end. I know that the club’s vision is to try and finish second and qualify for the Champions League, without counting on big-name players, but on young players.
“I believe I have gone through this process. I arrived as an unknown, I made my name at the club, won things – but maybe I need a new challenge.”
Fabinho has already revealed he struggled to rediscover his best form at the start of the season due to the fact he failed to secure a summer move away from the club.
Nevertheless, he has still scored four times and registered three assists in Ligue 1 this term, garnering an impressive WhoScored rating of 7.64 in the process.
Since the start of last season, only Ciro Immobile (12) and Alexandre Lacazette (11) have scored more penalties than Fabinho (9) in Europe’s top five leagues.
