Lazio open to offers for Manchester United target Milinkovic-Savic
Lazio have not ruled out selling Sergej Milinkovic-Savic this summer amid reported interest from Manchester United.
Milinkovic-Savic is regarded as one of the most gifted midfielders in Italy and has been heavily linked with a move to United this summer.
United are yet to reinforce their midfield options despite losing Ander Herrera and Marouane Fellaini in the last six months.
The Red Devils still haven't concluded a deal for Sporting ace Bruno Fernandes and have until August 8 to get their summer dealings over the line.
Milinkovic-Savic is another player reportedly under consideration by United, but any move will likely only happen if Paul Pogba leaves Old Trafford.
Lazio president Claudio Lotito insists the Serbia international is not actively up for sale but conceded the club will listen to offers for the 24-year-old.
“I haven’t put Milinkovic up for sale and he is doing well with us,” Gianluca Di Marzio quote Lotito as saying.
“If offers arrive, then we will evaluate them and wait the responses from the market, but we will seek to protect the player’s interests, as well as our own.”
Milinkovic-Savic endured a disappointing campaign last season compared to his efforts in the 2017/18 campaign, where he scored 12 goals.
The Lazio ace only weighed in with five goals last season, while his WhoScored rating in Serie A dropped from 7.39 two years ago to 7.15 last term.
Nevertheless, only three players have completed more accurate through balls in the last three Serie A campaigns than Milinkovic-Savic (19).
Furthermore, Milinkovic-Savic also ranks fourth for most aerial duels won in Serie A in the same time frame (364).
