Chelsea welcome offers from Barcelona for Willian

Chelsea are willing to cash in on Willian this summer amid interest from Spanish giants Barcelona, reports The Daily Telegraph.

Willian has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United in the last two years but now Jose Mourinho’s side face competition from Barcelona.

Chelsea have reportedly already rejected a £50m offer from the Spanish champions but their preference is to sell Willian abroad.

The Premier League giants want to use the money raised from Willian’s sale to help fund their summer spending spree but value the 29-year-old closer to £60m.

Chelsea are locked in talks to sign Russia international Aleksandr Golovin after the 2018 World Cup in a deal worth £27m, while Juventus defender Daniele Rugani and Roma goalkeeper Alisson are other transfer targets.

Maurizio Sarri will likely be Chelsea manager for next season but the west London outfit are struggling to get a deal over the line for the Napoli boss.

Chelsea sold Nemanja Matic to United 12 months ago but would only consider sending Willian the same way if Mourinho’s side allowed Anthony Martial to move in the opposite direction.

Willian was named the WhoScored Man of the Match in Brazil’s 2-0 win over Mexico in Monday’s last-16 tie at the 2018 World Cup (9.24 rating).
