Robert Snodgrass has rejected an offer of a new contract from Hull and is looking to leave the Premier League strugglers in January, reports The Guardian.
The 29-year-old’s current deal is due to expire next summer and Hull had been keen to tie down his long-term future to boost their chances of survival following their horrendous start to the season.
Mike Phelan’s side are currently bottom of the Premier League and three points off safety, while much of their limited success has been down to Snodgrass’ form.
However, Hull have been served a huge blow in their attempts to beat the drop after the Scotland international rejected their three-year deal with a view to leaving the club in January.
The Tigers will not let their best player lose without a fight and they reportedly have a clause to trigger an automatic one-year extension in Snodgrass’ contract, which would at least allow them to have more sway in his immediate future.
Snodgrass is their top goalscorer in the league this season (5), which is 35.7% of the goals they have scored in the division (14).
