UEFA have announced that Antoine Griezmann has been named player of the tournament for Euro 2016.
Griezmann, 25, finished the tournament as top goalscorer after scoring six goals in seven appearances.
However, the Atletico Madrid striker’s efforts proved all for nothing after France were beaten 1-0 in extra-time by Portugal in the final on Sunday.
Griezmann became the first player since 1984 to score more than five goals in a European Championships final when Michel Platini scored nine goals. According to WhoScored.com's rating, Gareth Bale was actually the highest rated player at Euro 2016 (8.22).
