Barcelona midfielder has not been approached from China, says agent
Contrary to reports, Barcelona midfielder Arda Turan has not been subject to a €100m (£80m) bid from Chinese Super League outfit Beijing Guoan, according to his agent.
The Chinese Super League is the fastest growing league in the world and they have been hovering up talent fro Europe and South America since the turn of the year.
Ramires, Alex Teixeira, Jackson Martinez and Gervinho are just some of the high-profile names to have fled from Europe to Asia in recent times and there had been reports suggesting Turan could become the latest player to be offered a lucrative move.
The Turkey international joined Barcelona over the summer but only made his debut for the reigning European Champions at the start of the year because of the transfer embargo imposed on the club.
Despite being sidelined without football for the best part of six months Turan has made a seamless transition into the Barcelona team and his agent, Ahmet Bulut, has denied claims he has been approached by Guoan.
“It is not true that Arda has received an offer [from China],” Bulut told Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo.
“Arda is not looking at leaving now, or in the summer [transfer window].”
In four league appearances this season, Turan has already registered two assists and already looks like he has been Barcelona player for years, boosting an unrivalled pass success rate in the team in La Liga this season (92%).
