West Ham United striker Andy Carroll is set to miss the next six weeks with a hamstring injury, according to BBC Sport.
Carroll, 27, only lasted 15 minutes into the Hammers 3-1 win over Bournemouth on Tuesday before trudging straight down the tunnel with a hamstring problem.
The former England international returned to first-team action in September following a seven-month injury lay-off and had scored in each of West Ham’s last two league matches going into their midweek clash with the Cherries.
However, Carroll has now suffered another setback in his return to long-term fitness with the lanky forward likely to miss the next six weeks, surely all but ending his hopes of working his way into Roy Hodgson’s England squad for the Euro’s this summer.
No West Ham player averages more aerial duels won per game than Carroll in the Premier League this season (3.5), furthering his statistically calculated strength of ‘aerial duels’.
