West Ham are closing in on the £16m signing of Swansea City striker Andre Ayew, reports the Sun.
The Hammers have been left frustrated in their efforts to bring in a new frontman this summer, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Michy Batshuayi and Carlos Bacca among those to have rejected a move to the Olympic Stadium.
Have previously been linked with a move for Aston Villa’s Jordan Ayew, it’s believed they are hopeful of wrapping up a deal for his brother instead.
Ayew impressed on his debut campaign in England, netting 12 league goals, more than any other Swansea player, with the south Wales side keen to retain the 26-year-old’s services.
West Ham were linked with a move for the Ghana star last season when he was available on a free, but baulked at his wage demands.
They are now prepared to spend big to take Ayew to London as the strive to strengthen their attack.
