Liverpool boss emerges as potential Barcelona target

Barcelona will almost certainly replace head coach Luis Enrique at the end of the season and have earmarked Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp as a potential successor, reports The Daily Mirror.

Enrique’s two-year stint as Barcelona manager looks set to finish at the end of the season after the club were humiliated 4-0 in the first leg of their last 16 clash with Paris Saint-Germain last week and the club have already been linked with a number of managers.

Klopp has transformed Liverpool into one of the best sides in the Premier League since being made manager in October 2015 and the Reds could now have a fight on their hands to keep him in the summer.

Barcelona have already poached Luis Suarez and Javier Mascherano from the Merseyside outfit in the past and could now move for their manager, although taking Klopp away from the club will prove more difficult.

The German is not the only manager on their wish list, with Everton manager and former Barcelona defender Ronald Koeman also reportedly in their thoughts.

Liverpool have only won two of their last 11 matches in all competitions as their campaign has completely gone off the boil. Their only goal now is to fight for a top four place and get back into the Champions League.
