Diego Costa accuses Chelsea of pricing him out of Atletico Madrid move

Diego Costa has launched another stunning rampage on Chelsea and claimed Antonio Conte’s side are pricing him out of a move away this summer.

Antonio Conte told Costa at the start of the summer that he was no longer wanted at Stamford Bridge but the reigning Premier League champions are reportedly demanding £50m for his signature.

Costa only wants to re-sign for Atletico Madrid this summer but the Spanish side have no interest in matching Chelsea's stunning valuation for the 28-year-old and are prepared to wait until the dying embers of the window in hope they will reduce their asking price.

The Blues paid in the region of £32m to sign Costa from Atletico in 2014 and are now looking to make an enormous profit on the Spain international despite the fact he is no longer wanted at the club.

Costa has spent his summer in Brazil and has refused the club’s request for him to return to training and now the controversial striker has appealed for the club to lower their asking price.

“When I came to Chelsea they paid a lot less compared to what’s being offered to them,” Costa told ESPN Brasil.

“I know that this [big effort to return to Atletico] will happen, but if it’s to pay the amount that Chelsea want it won’t be possible.

“It’s not my fault that I’m not at the club – if it was down to me I’d be playing. It’s already been one month. Holidays are good but it gets tiresome.

“It won’t be the same as before [between him and Conte] and we don’t know if the fight for the position [in the team] will be fair.

“Because of me having exposed the [text] message I understand that he’ll be annoyed, so if I go back I have to see if things would be clean, just and correct.

“That’s how I like things. If I go back now I don’t think it will be a fair situation. It won’t be an honest fight for a position [in the team].”

Costa has played an important role in two title-winning campaigns in three full seasons at the club and has scored more league goals than any other Chelsea player in that time (52).
