Leicester weigh up £20m bid for Nice starlet

Leicester are interested in signing Malang Sarr and will send scouts to watch the Nice centre-back ahead of launching a potential £20m bid, reports The Sun.

The Foxes are still keen to bolster their defensive ranks this summer despite already having signed Harry Maguire from Hull in a deal worth £17m earlier this summer.

Sarr became the second youngest debutant goalscorer in Ligue 1 history during his breakthrough season last term and the 18-year-old is regarded as one of the most exciting young centre-backs in Europe.

The teenager will reportedly be allowed to leave Nice this summer if the French side fail to overcome Ajax in the second leg of their Champions League qualifier on Wednesday.

Nice travel to Amsterdam after drawing their home leg 1-1 and Leicester will have scouts in attendance to watch Sarr  ahead of making a potental £20m bid for the France U21 international.

Of all players aged under the age of 21, Sarr completed the second most accurate passes in Europe’s top five leagues last season (1515).
