Belotti not interested in signing for a big club

Former Manchester United target Andrea Belotti has revealed he has no interest in leaving Torino for a big club if he means sitting on the bench.

Belotti was one of the most sought after strikers in Europe last summer but the 24-year-old has endured a tough season this time around.

Manchester United and AC Milan were thought to be interested in signing the Italy international but Torino were holding out for around €100m (£87.3m)

Reports emerged over the weekend suggesting the Serie A side would now consider offers for half of that, but Belotti will only consider leaving if he is guaranteed first-team football.

“People tell me I should go to a big club who play for trophies, but I evaluate what’s right for me 360,” he told Domenica Sportiva, via Football Italia.

“I’m not interested in going to a big club if it means me not playing or being a substitute. If I move, it’s because I’ll be a starter.”

Belotti had scored 22 league goals at this stage last season but only has netted six times this time around.

His WhoScored rating has also dropped from 7.67 to 6.95 during the same time frame.
