Tottenham front queue for Arsenal and Manchester United target

Tottenham have moved to the front of the queue to sign Arsenal and Manchester United target Malcom from Ligue 1 side Bordeaux, reports the Daily Mail.

Arsenal were believed to be closing in on the 20-year-old, but have since pulled the plug on the deal as they deemed the Brazilian to be too inexperienced.

Manchester United have also been credited with an interest in Malcom, but it seems as though Spurs are now leading the race for the youngster.

It’s reported that Tottenham will spend around £35m to sign Malcom this month, though Bordeaux are reluctant to cash in on their prized asset, who has scored seven and assisted five in France’s top tier this term.

Spurs are in the market or a wideman having allowed Georges-Kevin Nkoudou to leave on loan to fellow Premier League side Burnley this month.

Mauricio Pochettino, who returns to St. Mary’s when his Spurs side take on Saints this weekend, is also weighing up the possibility of recalling Josh Onomah from his loan spell at Aston Villa.

Malcom’s good form has returned a WhoScored rating of 7.49 this season, while only Spurs man Dele Alli (44) has made more key passes from open play than the Bordeaux wideman (36) of players aged 21 and under in Europe’s top five leagues so far this term.
