Marseille’s best interceptor refuses to comment on future

Marseille defender Nicolas N’Koulou has refused to be drawn on his future at the club and is only focusing on playing football.

N’Koulou’s current deal is due to expire at the end of the season and there has so far been no indication that he will extend his stay at the Stade Vélodrome.

The 25-year-old, who has spent the last four years at Marseille, has previously been linked with a move to Liverpool and Chelsea in the January transfer window but he isn’t letting his future affect his performances.

“I would like to speak to you about my future but I can’t,” N’Koulou is quoted as saying by Get French Football. “We are in December. I would prefer to focus on the months that are left, the matches that are coming.

“I don’t even want to talk. Speaking about me is not the most important thing… At this moment, anything is possible. But to put my situation before that of the club is disrespectful.”
