Everton want to prise Yerry Mina and Lucas Digne away from Barcelona this summer, reports The Daily Telegraph.
New Everton head coach Marco Silva is concerned by the club’s ageing defence and is keen to inject young blood before the start of next season.
The Toffees have been heavily linked with a move for Mina all summer and will now step up their interest following Clement Lenglet’s arrival at Barcelona.
Ernesto Valverde’s side announced the arrival of the Sevilla centre-back on Thursday and his arrival has all but confirmed Mina’s future lies elsewhere.
Mina did his reputation no harm at the 2018 World Cup after scoring in all three of his appearances for Colombia and Everton are not likely to be the only team interested in signing him.
The Premier League outfit also want to sign Digne from their Spanish counterparts and hope the allure of regular first-team football will work in their favour.
Silva is desperate to sign a long-term replacement for Leighton Baines this summer and is targeting a move for Digne after calling off the club’s pursuit of Celtic starlet Kieran Tierney.
Digne has spent the last two years at Barcelona but has failed to make any impression at the club, making just 22 league starts in that time. Mina, meanwhile, only signed for Barcelona in January and looks set to leave after just six months at the club.
Only Eden Hazard (8.53) has a higher WhoScored rating than Mina (8.35) at the 2018 World Cup.
