Atletico Madrid have announced Diego Simeone has put pen to paper on a new three-year deal keeping him at the club until June 2020.
Simeone previous deal was due to expire in 2020 but it was announced in September 2016 that he had taken the decision to reduce his contract by two years.
The tenacious Argentinean was expected to leave Atletico at the end of the current campaign but the Spanish giants have now announced Simeone is committed to the club for the next three seasons.
Simeone has spent the last six years as Atletico manager and has taken the club to unimaginable heights during that period.
The Rojiblancos have won La Liga and Copa del Rey under Simeone, while also ending up as losing finalists in the Champions League on two occasions.
During his time at the club, Simeone has won 62.6% of his matches.
