Chelsea interested in shock move for Manchester City forward

Chelsea are interested in making a shock move for Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero, claims Sky Sports.

The Premier League champions are in the market for a new striker after head coach Antonio Conte told Diego Costa he is no longer wanted at the club.

Chelsea were expected to re-sign Romelu Lukaku from Everton only for Manchester United to hi-jack their deal.

Conte’s side are now weighing up a £65m move for Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, while they are also interested in Torino ace Andrea Belotti and Real Madrid outcast Alvaro Morata.

However, the west London outfit are now interested in exploring whether there is a chance to prize Aguero away from their Premier League rivals.

The Argentina international has endured a difficult time under Pep Guardiola and is no longer one of the first names of the team sheet for the first time in his career.

Aguero’s first team opportunities will be limited further if Guardiola’s side succeed in their pursuit of Arsenal striker Alexis Sanchez and Chelsea are willing to offer the 29-year-old an escape route out of Manchester.

Since joining City from Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2011, Aguero has scored more goals than any other Premier League player (122).
