United and City target on the market

Manchester City and Manchester United have been given the greenlight to fight for Southampton star Sadio Mane at the end of the season, according to The Daily Mirror.

Mane, 23, has been regularly linked with a move to one of the Premier League’s top clubs and United reportedly failed with a late move for the pacey forward at the start of January.

However, admirers of the Senegal international have now been given encouragement to make a fresh move for the forward with Southampton willing to listen to offers in excess of £30m.

Mane has now gone 15 games without a league goal and Ronald Koeman holds reservations whether the forward fits into the new system he is trying to force on his current squad.

Despite a prolonged dip in form, since the start of last season Mane still ranks among the top 10 players for fewest minutes per successful dribble (every 35.4 mins).
