West Ham interested in signing Arsenal forward

West Ham are interested in prising Lucas Perez away from Arsenal, claims The Daily Mirror.

Perez will need to leave Arsenal to find regular playing time next season after failing to make any impression at the club.

The Gunners signed Perez in a £17.5m deal two years ago but the Spaniard spent last season on loan at boyhood club Deportivo La Coruna.

West Ham have already signed Felipe Anderson and Andriy Yarmolenko to bolster their offensive options but are not finished there.

Unai Emery has no room for Perez ahead of the new season and West Ham believe Perez could represent a cheaper alternative to their other targets.

Portuguese giants Sporting are also interested in offering Perez a way out of his Arsenal hell but the 29-year-old’s preference is to remain in England.

After struggling upon his return to Deportivo, Perez finished last season strongly, scoring or assisting in each of his last four appearances.

In fact, only Adrian Lopez (15) scored or assisted more league goals than Perez (14) for Deportivo.
