Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish has announced he intends to represent England despite having featured for all under age levels for Republic of Ireland.
Grealish, 20, took time out from Ireland’s U’21s to concentrate on his club football, but has now put an end to a saga that has rumbled for some time by announcing his intentions to pull on the Three Lions jersey.
England manager Roy Hodgson is set to announce his squad for upcoming fixtures against Estonia and Lithuania on Thursday and there have been suggestions Grealish could be included after a promising start to the season.
Despite his promising start to the season, his WhoScored rating of 6.94 is only enough to rank him the 38th best English player in the Premier League so far this season.
