AC Milan and Manchester United target keen to leave Bayern

Renato Sanches has confirmed that he wants to leave Bayern Munich this summer, with AC Milan and Manchester United keen on the youngster.

The Portuguese midfielder moved to Bayern from Benfica 12 months on the back of a superb showing at Euro 2016, but struggled to nail down a regular starting berth for the Bundesliga champions.

Indeed, the 19-year-old made only six league starts last season, though he impressed at the European U21 Championship.

Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has admitted that Sanches is available to sign for £43m, while United head coach Jose Mourinho has spoken highly of the teenage midfielder in the past.

However, United would face competition from AC Milan in the race to sign Sanches, who is quoted by the Independent as saying: “I'm not satisfied. Of course, I would like to play more that's why I want to change and go to a club where I would play more.

“AC Milan is an interesting option. If the opportunity emerges and the clubs can agree, I would like to know.

“I'm now with Bayern but when we go back to Munich from Asia, we will sit together and hopefully find a solution.

“I'm young, I want and I have to play a lot. I think the chance to do so is greater in Milan than in Munich.”
