David de Gea's proposed move to Real Madrid has fallen through has the necessary paperwork was not submitted in time.
The Manchester United goalkeeper has been strongly linked with a move to the Bernabeu all summer and a deal was supposedly close to competition on Monday.
However, the move has supposedly collapsed and it looks as though De Gea will now remain at Old Trafford for the time being.
Any deal for the Spaniard had also hinged on Keylor Navas moving to United, though that deal could still happen with the transfer window open for English teams until 6pm on Tuesday.
It remains to be seen whether Madrid will appeal for the deal to be completed, while no official announcement has been made by either club over the transfer.
