Liverpool are ready to battle Juventus for Atalanta rising star Franck Kessie, according to Corriere dello Sport, via The Daily Mail.
Kessie, 19, has made an electric start to life in his breakthrough campaign in Serie A this season and his performances in central midfield have already seen him dubbed as the next ‘Yaya Toure’.
The Ivory Coast international has already established himself as a crucial part of Atalanta’s team and his performances have not gone unnoticed, with Juventus and Liverpool reportedly set to do battle for his signature in the summer.
Jurgen Klopp’s side are understood to be preparing an £18.5m bid for Kessie in an attempt to fend off their rivals for the powerful central midfielder, although Juventus are not the only side in Europe tracking his progress.
The Atalanta teenager has scored five goals from 13 appearances in Serie A this season, enough to make him the highest scoring midfielder in the division.
