Former Tottenham man on Arsenal's radar

Arsenal have made a move for Kieran Trippier after Manchester United were unable to agree a fee with Atletico Madrid for the England international, reports the Sunday Sun.

United have been heavily linked with a move for Trippier as they seek to bolster their right-back options ahead of the 2021/22 season.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka is first choice for United, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was keen to add an experienced head to the side as they seek to make a sustained push for the Premier League title.

However, United have been unable to come to an agreement with Atletico for the 30-year-old and that has seen Arsenal enter the race for Trippier.

There are doubts surrounding Hector Bellerin's future at the Emirates, with Inter keen on signing the Spaniard.

Cedric Soares is expected to start the season as first choice for Mikel Arteta's side, but the Gunners boss has explored the possibility of adding the former Tottenham man to the squad.

Trippier earned a WhoScored rating of 7.20 in 2020/21, enough to make the La Liga team of the season at right-back.
