Barcelona will step up their interest in Paris Saint-Germain winger Ezequiel Lavezzi when their transfer embargo is lifted in January, according to Diario Sport.
Lavezzi, 30, has dropped down the pecking order at the Ligue 1 champions following the arrival of fellow countryman Angel di Maria over the summer and is reportedly seeking a move.
The Argentina international’s contract is due to expire at the end of the season and appears a good fit for Barcelona, who are looking to strengthen their wide areas following the departure of Pedro and injury problems for Lionel Messi.
Lavezzi has been restricted to just three starts in Ligue 1 this season with a further nine appearances coming from the bench. His involvement has been so limited that only Jean-Kevin Augustin (5) is averaging fewer passes per game in Ligue 1 than Lavezzi (14) for PSG this season.
