Bayern refusing to give up on Chelsea winger

Bayern Munich are still interested in signing Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi and have not given up hope that a deal can be struck to sign the teenager, reports the Daily Mail.

Bayern have been courting the England international for months now and had hoped to land Hudson-Odoi at the turn of the year.

Hudson-Odoi handed in a transfer request, but Chelsea stood firm and retained his services, with the wideman becoming a prominent member of the squad prior to injury against Burnley.

Reports earlier this month suggested that Hudson-Odoi is close to signing a new five-year deal at Stamford Bridge, yet the Bundesliga champions are refusing to give up on the youngster.

Bayern are in the market for wingers following the respective exits of Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery and have also been linked with a move for Nicolas Pepe.

And the German powerhouse are expected to make a £45m bid for Hudson-Odoi before the close of the transfer window, which would be a £10m increase on their offer for the player in January.

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is keen to have a sit down with Hudson-Odoi to outline his plans for the season and the player himself upon his recovery.
