Bruma’s agent denies United contact

The agent of Galatasaray rising star Bruma has denied talks have taken place with Manchester United regarding a summer switch.

Bruma, 22, has taken the Turkish Super Lig by storm this season for Galatasaray and his impressive performances have reportedly caught the interest of Premier League duo Tottenham and United.

Reports emerged over the weekend suggesting United had made the first move to sign Bruma, but his agent, Catio Balde, has denied those suggestions but revealed the Portugal Under-21 international wants to play in the Premier League.

“There was no contact, no,” Balde told Sport Witness. “Today, there’s speculation. With us, directly, a meeting, or a call, an approach, there was nothing. I don’t know if there was this with the club [Galatasaray].

“Now that there are movements, there are movements.  But I can’t confirm that we, on our part, have received some approach, because we haven’t received one yet. I’m being honest.

The former Sporting winger has entered the final two years of his current deal with Galatasaray and Balde has conceded that the Turkish giants are keen to get Bruma on extended terms, although that might not be possible should he continue his impressive rise.

“There are English and German clubs who follow Bruma weekly,” he continued. “What’s happened is that there hasn’t been an advance until now. Anything can happen in December. He wants to play in the Premier League and he’s sure he’ll be bought.”

“Yes, there is an offer for contract renewal. It’s true. Given the approach from many clubs, Galatasaray want to prevent it and proposed a renewal.”
