Spurs’ new record signing lacking match fitness

Tottenham’s new club-record signing Moussa Sissoko has conceded he is not in the right condition to make his full debut for the club just yet.

Sissoko, 27, joined Tottenham in a deal worth £30m on deadline day but was only given a 12-minute run out in their 4-0 win over Stoke at the weekend.

That marked the former Newcastle United midfielder’s first competitive action since the Euro 2016 final and he admits he isn’t quite ready to play 90 minutes yet.

“I can’t tell you a date when I will be at my peak level, but my fitness is becoming better with every game, and I will work at the training ground to be 100 percent as soon as possible,” Sissoko told The London Evening Standard, via Marca.

In the last five Premier League campaigns only Eden Hazard (791) has attempted more dribbles than Sissoko (577).
