Alexandre Pato is still hopeful Chelsea will make his loan switch permanent at the end of the season.
The 26-year-old has only made two appearances since joining on loan from Corinthians in January and it would seem unlikely that Chelsea would opt to sign the versatile forward permanently at the end of the season.
However, Pato is still hopeful of forcing his way into incoming manager Antonio Conte’s long-term plans by playing well until the end of the season.
“I feel that my body and mind are strong. My aim is to stay here in Europe and continue at Chelsea,” Pato told ESPN.
“When Guus [Hiddink] gave me the chance to play I was very happy. Scoring that goal was a weight off my shoulders but I know that I still need more games to show my value.”
Pato scored a penalty in Chelsea’s 4-0 drubbing of Aston Villa in his first appearance but is yet to complete a full match from his two appearances this season.
