Spaniard’s City exit blocked by Guardiola

Incoming Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has blocked Jesus Navas’ exit from the club, according to Marca.

Navas, 30, has never convinced City fans since arriving from Sevilla in 2013 and a return to his boyhood club appeared on the cards following news Jose Antonio Reyes would be released this summer.

However, Guardiola has surprisingly put an end to that rumour and will not allowed the former Spain international to leave City.

Navas’ lack of conviction of front of goal has been a point of particular frustration for the City fans in the last three years and the fact that he has only scored four league goals would suggest their disappointment is well placed.

In fact, Navas hasn’t scored a league goal since January 2014 and has had 88 shots on goals since he last netted.
