Arsenal are set to make a big money move for Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Granit Xhaka, according to Sky in Germany via Sky Sports.
The Switzerland international has been srtongly linked with a move to the Premier League in recent months, with Chelsea and Liverpool also believed to be courting the youngster.
However, Arsenal appear to have stolen a march in the race to sign Xhaka, with the player's father alleged to have already met with Gunners boss Arsene Wenger to discuss a possible €43m move.
Xhaka is contracted to the Bundesliga side until 2019 and has become a mainstay in the Gladbach XI following his switch from Basel four years ago.
Indeed, only Xabi Alonso (92.2) and David Alaba (85.7) are averaging more passes per game in the Bundesliga this season than Xhaka (84.5), though ill-discipline is a concern with the 23-year-old on the receiving end of more red cards (3) than any other player in Germany's top tier this term.
