Willian wants Chelsea stay not Barcelona move

Willian revealed after Chelsea’s 2-1 win over Newcastle on Sunday that he is not interested in joining Barcelona.

The Spanish giants have their rekindled their interest in Willian this month after failing with multiple moves for the Brazil international last summer.

Barcelona reportedly had a player-plus-cash bid for Willian rejected by Chelsea earlier this month.

Ernesto Valverde’s side were willing to send Malcom in the other direction in a deal that would have been worth £50m.

Willian would have pushed for a move away from Chelsea last summer had Antonio Conte remained at the club.

Maurizio Sarri was appointed the Italian’s successor and Willian insists his future remains at Stamford Bridge.

“My future is here, I have one-and-a-half years on my contract left, and I want to stay until it is finished,” The Daily Mirror quote Willian as saying.

“I don’t know if the club want me to sign a new contract, but my focus is here. I would like a new contract. If they want it, I want it.

“I have been here for five-and-a-half years, won a lot of titles. I am very happy. To play for Chelsea, you have to put your mind to winning titles every year.”
